Test the contingency plan for the system in accordance with organization-defined frequency using organization-defined tests to determine the effectiveness of the plan and the organizational readiness to execute the plan.

Implementation Guidance

The organization being inspected/assessed conduct tests defined in CP-4, 492 at least annually to determine the effectiveness of the plan and the organizational readiness to execute the plan. The organization must maintain a record of test results. DoD has defined the frequency as at least annually.

Validation Procedures

The organization conducting the inspection/assessment obtains and examines the record of test results to ensure the organization being inspected/assessed conduct tests defined in CP-4, 492 at least annually to determine the effectiveness of the plan and the organizational readiness to execute the plan. DoD has defined the frequency as at least annually.
