Implementation Guidance

The organization being inspected/assessed documents and implements a process IAW DoD 5400.11-R and DoDI 5400.16 to provide effective notice to the public regarding its activities that impact privacy, including its collection, use, sharing, safeguarding, maintenance, and disposal of personally identifiable information (PII).

Validation Procedures

The organization conducting the inspection/assessment obtains and examines the documented process to ensure the organization being inspected/assessed provides effective notice to the public IAW DoD 5400.11-R and DoDI 5400.16 regarding its activities that impact privacy, including its collection, use, sharing, safeguarding, maintenance, and disposal of personally identifiable information (PII).
