Implementation Guidance

The organization being inspected/assessed establishes and documents a schedule for regularly reviewing the PII holdings per the frequency defined in DM-1, CCI 3489 to ensure the PII continues to be necessary to accomplish the legally authorized purpose.

Validation Procedures

The organization conducting the inspection/assessment obtains and examines the documented schedule to ensure the organization being inspected/assessed establishes a schedule for regularly reviewing the PII holdings per the frequency defined in DM-1, CCI 3489 to ensure the PII continues to be necessary to accomplish the legally authorized purpose.

Compelling Evidence

1.) Site must produce a document which describes site's established schedule for regularly reviewing the PII holdings on an organization-defined frequency to ensure the PII continues to be necessary to accomplish the legally authorized purpose. 2.) Reviewer will validate that the documentation establishes site's schedule for regularly reviewing the PII holdings per the frequency defined in DM-1, CCI 3489 to ensure the PII continues to be necessary to accomplish the legally authorized purpose.
