The organization installs organization-defined security-relevant software updates automatically to organization-defined information system components.

Implementation Guidance

The organization being inspected/assessed configures the information system to install security-relevant software updates defined in SI-2 (5), CCI 2611 automatically to information system components defined in SI-2 (5), CCI 2609. For information system components that have applicable STIGs or SRGs, the organization being inspected/assessed must comply with the STIG/SRG guidance that pertains to CCI 2613.

Validation Procedures

The organization conducting the inspection/assessment examines the information system to ensure the organization being inspected/assessed configures the information system to install security-relevant software updates defined in SI-2 (5), CCI 2611 automatically to information system components defined in SI-2 (5), CCI 2609. For information system components that have applicable STIGs or SRGs, the organization conducting the inspection/assessment evaluates the components to ensure that the organization being inspected/assessed has configured the information system in compliance with the applicable STIGs and SRGs pertaining to CCI 2613.

Compelling Evidence

1.) Results that validate the information system is configured to install security-relevant software updates defined in SI-2 (5), CCI 2611 automatically to information system components defined in SI-2 (5), CCI 2609 2.) Proof that the information system is in compliance with the applicable STIG/SRG checks pertaining to CCI 2613.
