The organization, if information system component failures are detected, ensures standby components are successfully and transparently installed within an organization-defined time period.

Implementation Guidance

The organization being inspected/assessed documents and implements a process to transparently install standby components within a time period defined in SI-13 (4), CCI 1327 if information system component failures are detected. The organization must maintain a log of standby component installation to include time periods.

Validation Procedures

The organization conducting the inspection/assessment obtains and examines the documented process as well as the log of standby component installation to ensure the organization being inspected/assessed transparently installs standby components within a time period defined in SI-13 (4), CCI 1327 if information system component failures are detected.

Compelling Evidence

1.) Signed and dated System security plan includes a process to transparently install standby components within a time period defined in SI-13 (4), CCI 1327 if information system component failures are detected. 2.) Log of standby component installation to include time periods.
