The information system, at organization-defined information system components, loads and executes organization-defined applications from hardware-enforced, read-only media.

Implementation Guidance

The organization being inspected/assessed configures the information system to load and execute applications defined in SC-34, CCI 1213 from hardware-enforced, read-only media at information system components defined in SC-34, CCI 1212. For information system components that have applicable STIGs or SRGs, the organization being inspected/assessed must comply with the STIG/SRG guidance that pertains to CCI 1211.

Validation Procedures

The organization conducting the inspection/assessment examines the information system to ensure the organization being inspected/assessed configures the information system to load and execute applications defined in SC-34, CCI 1213 from hardware-enforced, read-only media at information system components defined in SC-34, CCI 1212. For information system components that have applicable STIGs or SRGs, the organization conducting the inspection/assessment evaluates the components to ensure that the organization being inspected/assessed has configured the information system in compliance with the applicable STIGs and SRGs pertaining to CCI 1211.

Compelling Evidence

1.) Signed and dated Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). 2.) Concept of Operations (CONOP). 3.) Access Control policy (reference "hardware-enforced, read-only media" section). 2.) Applicable STIG/SRG checks pertaining to CCI 1211.
