There are 4 differences between versions v1 r1 (Feb. 26, 2016) (the "left" version) and v1 r3 (July 24, 2020) (the "right" version).

The HP FlexFabric Switch must allow only the ISSM (or individuals or roles appointed by the ISSM) to select which auditable events are to be audited.

Check Content

Determine if the HP FlexFabric Switch is configured to have different users with different user privileges: [HP] display local-user local-user test authorization-attribute user-role network-operator If the selection of auditable events is not restricted to only appointed personnel, this is a finding.

Discussion

Without the capability to restrict which roles and individuals can select which events are audited, unauthorized personnel may be able to prevent the auditing of critical events. Misconfigured audits may degrade the system's performance by overwhelming the audit log. Misconfigured audits may also make it more difficult to establish, correlate, and investigate the events relating to an incident or identify those responsible for one.
